Painter’s Paradise in Wine Country: The making of “Napa”

Napa in May might be a shoulder season, but it was perfect for Taylor and I to drive through wine country looking for stunning landscapes (and there were so many!). My “Napa” painting was born from just meandering through the roads and stopping to take photos when something beautiful caught my eye.

Wine County Views

We didn’t end up doing any wine tastings and the trip was rather short, but the views were exactly what I hoped for! Only I would go to wine country for the landscapes and not the wine, lol!

During the trip, we stumbled upon an estate sale (which was super fun to walk through an old but beautiful napa valley home) and I got a few unique items to bring home which felt special. I love bringing home little objects from my trips.

Painter's Paradise

I also found an incredible and huge pine cone when we pulled over to the side of the road to take photos. It now has a new home in my treasure cabinet in my studio ha!

We were driving through on our way to Sea Ranch, and it was so fun exploring wine country. I love painting landscapes that contain vineyards, the rows and rows of grapes make for some really fun patterns to paint! I could drive around wine country for days. It is this painter's paradise! My painting “Napa” comes from that brief but fun trip!
