Laurie Anne Land: April 2025

Happy April!
Spring is in the air!! The birds are chirping and everything is in bloom and feels so fresh and new! In Phoenix, our citrus trees are blooming and it smells so so good— sort of like honeysuckle (which instantly takes me back to spring in my childhood) but richer. I love it.
Decision Fatigue is real
This cabin will be my 4th renovation I've gone thru and I always love this process but also hate it. Having to make so many decision by a certain time and me being me is not a good combo 🙃 I tend to overthink stuff like this and it just becomes very overwhelming.
Thankfully, all the major decisions have been made and I can move on to the fun part— finding treasures! I have a vision for this cabin and I want it to be filled with art and pieces that have character and a story. I hope to find some cool vintage pieces for the cabin! I've been sharing about the whole process on the cabin's instagram if you want to follow along!
What I'm Loving

💡 The cutest little wireless lamp – Small but mighty, I have my eye on it for the cabin kitchen. Check it out here.
🥜 Boiled peanuts—love them or hate them? – A controversial snack, but I personally love them. Have you tried them? Get my go-to kit from back home!
🏡 A home tour I can't stop thinking about – If you love beautiful interiors, this one is a must-see.
🥖 My go-to French ham sandwich – Simple but perfect: French baguette, Lots of butter, ham (or prosciutto), and provolone. Try it—you won’t regret it!
✨ Beautiful brass hardware – I came across this in my search for the cabin. It is the most stunning brass hardware from Metal Works Morocco. I am hoping to use some in the kitchen when we get to that phase of the reno!
🐶 The perfect hat for dog lovers – As someone who is always distracted by dogs, this hat just makes sense.
📱 An app that’s actually helping me focus – The Opal app is keeping me from wasting hours on distractions—highly recommend if you need a digital detox.
A Favorite Follow: Jackie and Shadow
Jackie and Shadow are a pair of eagles in Big Bear that are currently raising 2 little eaglets that recently hatched. There are 2 live steam cameras on the nest and it is fascinating to watch them care for their babies. If you need to feel a little hope these days, watch this. You can't help but be in awe.

Behind the Scenes: My Favorite Art Supplies
I get asked all the time what supplies I use and so I put all of the things I use and love in one place for you!

Need to refresh your walls?
A little gift from me to you...
This months phone wallpaper is from my painting "Desert Dawn", I painted it from a photo I took of the desert on Easter morning a few years ago!
